Purple Lunch

How's this for purple.
I was trying to think of something purple to snap and just happened to notice this jar of grape jelly in the frig last night. So I had a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for lunch today.  Took two shots and wish I had moved the jelly a little to the left and snapped another but I ate the sandwich so I can't do a do over.
I used a texture from Florabella.

LOL....talked myself into shooting them again!

Photography is making me fat!

Ok...I just wasn't real happy with the first shoot so I set it up again.  This time I took one of my patterned platters and turned it upside down so only white showed and removed some of the cupcakes and focused more on the front cake.  Placed them closed to my background so the circles showed up better.  I do believe I like this much, much better.

I'm going to figure out how to connect my camera to my laptop so that I can view my images on the big screen.  Maybe then I won't have to take so many shots and not be happy once I see them full screen.  Now, to figure out how to do that!

This is it for me for pink...I need to get outside and get to work.

Cupcakes anyone?

This was my first thoughts for pink....I'm thinking I should have used a flower instead...going to have to eat these props...LOL...

I need to really practice food photography more cause I never get it to what I want it to be.  I printed off some green scrapbook paper to add to the background but I don't really have good light inside my house.  Or should I say I don't have room for the props, my camera and tripod and my body all at the same time.  Have a heck of a time!

You're pick for color next!

Pretty in Pink

Spotted these on my route. I think they fit the pink color perfectly. This lady has a yard that I could explore for a whole day...she has lots of little things like these chairs scattered all over her huge property.  I tried to make this image look 'dreamy' but it didn't really come out like my mind visualized it. I've got another idea to post tomorrow, just got to find the time to get it done.  Bill and I worked on the front yard till noon today and then the rains moved in and we had to quit.  It is only in the 50's now and I've got my feet covered with a blanket...go figure...we were hot as heck last Sunday and cold this weekend.  It's only suppose to climb to the lower 60's tomorrow and breezy. I want to get the yard done so it will have time to grow before cold weather moves in.  If we can work it tomorrow, it should be done in about 3 hours, I hope.

I think I'll buy me some of these chairs to put in the privacy fence garden...maybe paint each of them in the terracotta colors.  We've got a huge oak tree up at the end of the fence and beside the garden shed...these chairs would look good under it.

Pink........

One pink in the bunch

I didn't realize it but my house seems to be void of the color pink. I have looked and looked for something pink to snap and the only thing I could find was my bath scrubby and I didn't think you would be to interested in seeing that. I have plenty of pink flowers but I'm trying to get away from so many flower images. Anyway this will have to do for PINK.

No Pink.....yet.

As I was coming in the back door the other day I noticed these cute little blue berries on my Lantana plant and thought they would make a nice snap. I'm still on the look out for Pink.....LOL

Have a good day.

Another...Orange Cosmos

Just another image of some orange.  I never really realized there was so much orange in this world until I started looking around for it this week.  I like this challenge we are doing...makes me more aware of colors and things that I've never noticed before.  I'm starting to get a real appreciation for all colors!

Orange Sunday....finally!!

As soon as you posted our color to be orange, this is what I thought of....I used to drink it all the time as a kid....loved it!  It took me a while to find some of it in a bottle and even longer to photo the dang stuff...LOL....drank two bottles before I actually captured the foam after pouring.  It's still not what I had in my mind's eye but I'm running out of time and needed to get it posted and my weekend chores done.

How about PINK for next weeks color challenge?

Rusty orange Mum

A little more rust than orange but close enough.
I trimed this back all summer so it wouldn't bloom to early.

Orange Sunrise

What a beautiful morning!  This is exactly how the sky looked at 6:30 am.  It was as if God was helping me with the color of orange this week...LOL.

Have you looked at any of the class material yet???

Dear Sweet Darby

Some of my favorite shots of Darby.  I was more pleased with this shoot than I was 2 years ago.  I always think I'm not learning but this shoot proved that I AM learning....albeit, slowly, but learning.  I noticed more harsh light on her face and things that protrude from the back of her head.  I've still a long ways to go but I'm happy to realize that things are 'starting' to sink in.
It was a great day and we had a blast.  She loved all the images!  We just need to start copying some poses and taking with us.  That was the hardest thing we had to do was think of great ways to pose her that looked natural.

No image today..just something I want to get off my chest.  Darby came by yesterday afternoon and we spent the day out taking photos of her.  She loves to do it and never complains if it takes too long or if I'm too slow.  We took about 100 shots but I haven't had a chance to look at them yet.  Last night we went to the movies and watched Nanny McPhee Returns.  We enjoyed the movie and each other but got back out to the truck to a disappointing surprise.  I thought I'd hit the lock on my key throb but must have hit the wrong button and we were running late and I didn't do a double check to make sure.  My purse and her purse were in the truck...mine was same as empty cause all I had in it was my billfold, checkbook and phone and I had taken my billfold and phone in to the movie with me.  Darby, through....had a stash of stuff...her camera, mp3 player, Nintendo and about 15 games for it, her billfold (no money) and her makeup.  Some damn thief got in the truck and took both purses.  I'm sure they were extremely disappointed with mine but ecstatic with hers!!!  Mine didn't even have any checks in the checkbook...just the registry cause I use my check card 99% of the time.  I do miss my brand spanking new Mitsi purse. Have just had it a couple months and it had my favorite cover on it!  But, I'm totally sick about Darby's loss.  I'm going to call my insurance to see if any of it would be covered but if not, I plan on replacing all her things. We reported it to the police but I'm not holding my breath of anything being returned.

What makes me so mad is that people do it in the first place!  Why can't all people be honest?  Why do they have to stoop to stealing instead of just making an honest living.  I didn't sleep but a few hours last night cause I was so mad!  If I ever find out who did it, they won't be safe to be around me!  I feel so sorry for Darby cause she saved her money to buy the camera and she bought the games herself too.  Just kicking myself in the butt for not double checking the locks!  Or, at the least, leaving her purse at home!

Just blowing off steam!

Boats

Just one of the houseboats that are gathering for the Stern wheel festival in Marietta. This always looks so fun to me to travel on the river in one of these adorable house boats. I'm sure I would get tired of it real quick. May go up tomorrow and watch them race.
The color for next week is orange.

Another for the Blue Week

I didn't get this off my cell phone but got a shot of it today with my Sony.  I've noticed it before but hadn't really paid attention to the blue one until this week.  I love the color of it and also like the way the plates look on the wall.  I've also posted a full view of them.  Just like how they show up on the white shed.

Your color pick for next week!  But, we still have till Sunday to post the color blue.

Sunny Blue

Here is my image of blue....this is my new yellow knock out rose and the new blue birdbath I bought.  I couldn't resist the rose as it was marked down to 4.00 and they are usually 20.00 around here.  I prefer the double knock outs but they don't make a double in yellow.  I've planted it along the fence and added the bird bath beside it.  I'm on my way to making my fiesta ware wall.  I'm going to paint my wagon orange and then I want to add some Adirondack chairs in red and yellow.   Then I'll plant my hanging planters with all those colors combined.  I can't wait till next Spring to get it all done!

My snap of something Blue.

Blueberry Crisp for dessert tonight. This is so easy but sooooo good.

I put what ever fruit I'm using (tonight it just happens to be blueberries) in a 8 x 8 baking dish mix a little crisp mix in with the fruit than sprinkle the rest evenly over the top. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

CRISP RECIPE

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup soft butter

Sift together the flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
Cut butter into flour mixture with pastry blender until it resembles coarse meal

I have used this recipe on peaches, apples, and blueberries and they have all been wonderful.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for Blue.
