It's been a long time since my last post, but I just haven't had anything to write about or take a picture of until now. You know how much I love peony's so I had to take time for this snap.

Lovely Pink Peony's

Sharing a few more cards
As you can see, I had a rash of Sympathy cards to make...I'm going to share 4 of them today...the last three are alike except I changed up the color of the blossoms and pearls. Nothing much to share about these...I used embossing folders and cut the blossoms on the Cameo. On the first card, the brush was by Katie Pertiet. I cut the butterfly with the Cameo and then added glitter to it. I printed the sentiment on the velum and then cut the strip for the front of the card. Layered it on some new cardstock I found by Bazzill called Bling...it has this linen look with a beautiful sheen to it. I wish I'd picked up a lot more. The only difference between these two cards is the pearls and the color of the bottom layer.
As you can see...all I did was change up the colors and on the last one, I rounded the corners. I was going after a frame/matted look for the sentiment..I can't emboss but I can fake it...LOL...I think the purple one is my favorite..if you look closely, you can see the beautiful sheen on the purple sentiment frame. And yes, they are all the same white...LOL...I still can't take pictures and get the exposure correct...
That's all for tonight...I've got a couple more Sympathy cards and then Gavin's birthday card...will share those this weekend.
Thanks for looking!

Card in a Box
I finally gave this technique a try....the first image is the first one I did and I wasn't real happy with it but the second card was more to my liking. They were fun to design and I can see myself making more of them. Might do one for Mother's Day...
On this image I used elements from a kit by Lori Whitlock called Maggie. The paper is from Birthday Celebration...a collaboration by several different artists. The box cut file was purchased from the Silhouette store. The rhinestones were from a roll that Jerri Ann bought me for Christmas...first time I've used them...I'm a hoarder...can't get myself to use the really pretty stuff...LOL Everything was traced and cut in the Cameo and then I added liquid pearls and glitter to the flowers.
I liked this one much, much better...just more up my alley in colors and design. Everything is from a kit called Little Charmer by Laurie Ann HGD.
My last share today is a birthday card I made up for a friend of mine who turned 60...she is kind of a tom boy so I knew I couldn't do frilly and this is the best I could do...love the colors!
The red dotted paper is from a kit called Retro Red by Robin Sampson and the blue chevon paper is from a paper pack called Breezy Summer by My Clipart store. I added white pen stitching and ran my stars through my Xyron to add adhesive and then glittered them up. The kraft card base is from PaperTrey Ink. The sentiment is by Kolette Hall...I just changed the color and did a print and cut onto the oval shape. I cut the tag shape from kraft cardstock and then made a bit smaller size of the tag, cut it four times and layered it on top of each other with adhesive...then used it to emboss my larger tag shape. That is one thing I wish the Cameo could do..emboss around a cut shape but it doesn't.
That's all for now...if I don't get busy with a birthday card, it will be too late and my grandson will be cardless...LOL....this is the first year that I do not have to make any party stuff...he's finally outgrown the parties and is just having a few over night guest. I kind of miss it!

Sunday Morning Card Share
Worked up a few more cards to share....these were done back in the fall last year and just now getting around to posting them...after these I've got last years Halloween cards to post and then I think I'll be back up to date...well, almost! LOL
I made this card for my newest sister in law...she is a bit younger then me but still from the Rock n roll era and I thought she'd like this. She is also big on collecting antiques.
This was all from a kit I bought from Robin Sampson called Retro Diner. I took all the images into Silhouette Designer Edition and traced them to be used with the Print n Cut feature. After cutting, I layered it all up with pop dots and added some black buttons from my stash and some twine. I added Crystal Laquer to the records and the malt glass to give it the shine it really deserves and also a bit around the juke box player and I used a dark pink colored marker to add layers to the poodle skirt. I thought it turned out extremely cute and was easy to do....I like bright colors so this was right up my alley.
Next up was my sisters birthday card...nothing fancy, just flowers, a fence and a butterfly I had picked up the last time I was in Michaels.
The ribbon was from Wal-Mart, the butterfly was by Martha Stewart and the flowers were drawn by me and cut on the Cameo. I drew the leaves in the Silhouette Design Edition program and just left them as printable and not cutable...they printed out with my greeting when I printed the card layer and then I added a bit of white gel pen to highlight the tops of the leaves. The flower centers are wiggly eyes that I painted with pearl white fingernail polish and attached with glue dots. The paper is all AC cardstock. The fence was a cut file I downloaded from the online store.
Ok...last one for this session...another birthday card I created in SDE.
I have lots of embossing folders and never think to use them as much as I should. You would think I would because I love the look...something else I don't think about often enough is rounding my corners.
The embossing folder is a Darice. The paper and butterfly came from Robin Sampson too and the kit is called Pleasure. I just filled my shapes, traced the butterfly and used the Print n Cut feature in SDE. I do not remember where I got the Happy Birthday sentiment...I'm thinking it came from Miss Kate Kutables but not sure. Added some music to the background before I embossed it and rounded the corners...pretty easy. You can't see it in this picture, but I added glitter to the butterfly. I thought the sentiment tag would look good with turquoise on the edge but it didn't turn out too good...looks pretty sloppy to me but as usual, was running late and didn't have the time for a re-do...I'll fix it the next time I make this card..LOL
UPDATE: I figured out the music background on this card, as well as the Happy Birthday sentiment. The paper was by LaurieAnnHGD and came in the After Five Designs Birthday Celebration Digital kit. I originally thought the greeting came from Miss Kate Kutables but it didn't. It was from this same kit, Birthday Celebration, and it was designed by tborges. This collection was made by 11 different designers. It's hard to keep track this way...
This isn't a card but we got to enjoy some color in our landscape right after Christmas..in fact, we were taking down Christmas lights on a fairly warm winter day when this fellow decided to bless us with some beautiful sky color....too bad he was moving so fast and I didn't have time to change the lens on my camera.
Spring will be here some day!
Enjoy!

Sharing my Mother's Day Card, finally!
I have so many cards to post and hope to find the time this week to get most of them posted. I've also got 400 wedding pics to edit and I can't seem to get my butt in gear to get them done. I've figured out that I LOVE taking pictures but HATE editing them. I liked when I just sent the film off to the lab and they did all the work for me...ugh.....I'm sure the bride would love to have her pictures through, so I guess this week will be spent in front of the computer!
Anyway, this is the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day....I also made a bag with flowers on it to hold the digital camera I got her but it wasn't too pretty so I won't be sharing it. I could not find the right color bag to go with my flowers and had to make do!
The base of the card is Kraft stock from PapertreyInk. I cut the flowers out of AC cardstock and then added color with my markers to enhance the color a bit. The butterfly shape is from the Silhouette Store and cut out of more AC stock. The doily is one I made in the Silhouette program after following a tutorial I found online. I embossed the white panel and rounded the edges. Pretty simple but pretty too!
Enjoy,

Poinsettia
Brent brought this Poinsettia home to me from the Lion's club Christmas dinner and I haven't killed it yet.
It looked so pretty today with the sun shining so bright and the snow outside that I had to take a snap.
Can't decide which one I like best.....Nothing done on the first one......the second ran a vintage action then tweaked a little. Which do you like????

Project for today
It has rained for the last 3 days needed something to cheer me up some. Planted these Paper White blubs and 2 Amaryllis blubs. One of the Amaryllis was new but the other one was from last year. Had it drying in the garage. Have no idea if it will bloom or not..... Hope so.
Also did a little more shopping and I have several packages that should be here in the next couple of days. I have never had my shopping started this early before in my life. Has me a little worried....LOL

Finally found some Sunflowers
I have been looking for some nice Sunflower to snap for the last couple of months and I finally found some. I have seen them in bouquets but they alway looked a little ragged.
These are SOOC only edit is cropped.
I'm happy with the snaps and the Sunflowers make me smile.

Yellow
Not the greatest yellow image but all I have been able to come up with so far. This is the last of my yellow roses for this year. Can't wait to see what they do next year.
Used Sweet Vintage action from Florabella.
Do I cut these back now or in the spring???? Can't remember what you said.

No Pink.....yet.
As I was coming in the back door the other day I noticed these cute little blue berries on my Lantana plant and thought they would make a nice snap. I'm still on the look out for Pink.....LOL
Have a good day.

Rusty orange Mum
A little more rust than orange but close enough.
I trimed this back all summer so it wouldn't bloom to early.

Queen Anne's Lace
I thought you wanted to take some shots of some Queen Anne but you have been so busy that I thought I would snap a few before they are all gone.
So far I like this new set up. May change my mind later.

Knockout Rose

When you posted a picture of your Knockout Roses last year that was the first time I had ever heard of them. But after that I started noticing them everywhere and I love them. So I bought and planted two this year. The one pictured here and a lovely yellow one. I so hope they make it through the winter. So thanks for sharing something that was new to me.
I picked up two sizes of this adorable frog jar a couple of weeks ago and I really like how it holds my flowers in just a perfect way while I snap away. You will probably see them used a bunch.
Used Florabella's Retro lollipop action on this image.

Tiger Swallowtail Snaps

Spotted this fluttering around outside the sunroom windows yesterday while I was doing dishes. Of course I had to stop and grab my camera and try to get a few snaps. I used the tripod on the first one but I couldn't keep track of all that fluttering around quick enough so went hand holding on the second one. Was using the 70 - 300 and I have so much trouble holding it still, I sway all over the place.
It makes me feel a little drunk.
They aren't perfect if you look to close but I like how they turned out.

Some snaps after the Rain
It was still a little windy but I took a few snaps anyway. Have always loved the deep green color that you get after a good rain. The pink & yellow of this Lantana is so pretty together also have a Sweet Potato vine and blue & white Bacopa planted in the pot.
Don't have many Herbs still planted but this just keeps coming up every year. I do need to take it out and plant something that will shade the roots of the Clematis better. Maybe next year.June 3, 2010
Signs of Summer

I'm taking a template class by Tiffany Tillman at Renee Pearson's.
Took the day off today from cleaning and played around some with one of the templates and came up with this.
My basement is about ¼ of the way cleaned and reorganized but I needed a day to rest. Made a Texas Sheet Cake for Neal earlier today and then just did what I wanted to do. Back at it tomorrow.

Memorial Day
Hope you are having a good Memorial Day! We are going to my brother's later for a family cook out. This flower basket reminds me a little of the beautiful one that you posted but it's not as big and no blue Lobelia but that's ok I like it fine. I always forget my plan of sticking to one color theme (different shades of Pink) and start buying anything that catches my eye.

Pink Peony
Got to go outside for awhile this afternoon before the rain ran me back in. Cleaned a little in the large flower bed under the tree but I have so much more to do I may never get it all done.
I know I had more work to do but had to take some time to snap a few pictures of this before the rain beats it down. Love the smell of this flower.
When I see an image with this Hazy look I always say to myself... WOW I like that.... but when I do it I'm never quit sure.
Same Image both ways.....What do you think?????
