The Civil War was fought in Lexington, Missouri in 1861. One cannon ball hit the court house and is still embedded in the pillar. This court house is the oldest building still being used west of the Mississippi River. It was in beautiful shape when I saw it. I'd like to have been able to go inside but it wasn't open the day we were there. This is a beautiful city with some awesome old homes in it. Some day, I'm going back just to take photos.October 6, 2009

Lexington
It was so cool, windy and cloudy this day. Jack was down with the flu so I didn't have him there to give me instructions. I didn't take as many images as I wanted to but got a few. This one I had to adjust in Camera Raw to bring out the blue sky. I'll post a few more this week but have to get to work now. I was SO tired, I went to bed at 7:30 last night and never stirred till 5:30 this morning.October 4, 2009
October Mosaic
This has been a lazy Sunday morning. Just trying something different. These are all shots from the road side market. I'll be looking for ideas to shoot for a November mosaic.October 3, 2009

Gourd

At the market they called this an Apple Dumpling Gourd. I haven't made up my mind if I'm going to cook and eat or just look at it.

Starting to look like fall

Went to the road side market yesterday and picked up some pumpkins & gourds. A few of my favorite things. I love this shot. It's the top to the chiminea and I have been looking for something to set on it every since I missed the shot of the gold finch that landed on it. Hope you don't get tired of this arrangment because it's a perfect spot.

Blackeyed Susan
Another image I got last weekend. Between the heavy lens and the slight breeze, it was impossible to get good sharp images.September 2009
I'm going to take a guess and say this is some kind of mushroom. It completely covers this tree and I liked the color contrast between it and the green behind. This is one time I really wished I had my tripod with me cause my big lens is so hard to hold steady.September 24, 2009
Geranium 2009
I might have made this one way too small but at least I got the frame around it and still had room to put my title.September 23, 2009
Late Summer Sunrise
I took Bill to work on Sat. morning so I could have the pickup. Captured this early morning sunrise.September 21, 2009
My try
I took this shot last week and you are right they are hard. Can't get what my eyes see. Wish I had moved back a little.End of Summer Sun Rays
I will get this...someday....somehow......eventually. I love the Sun Rays and try as I might, I have a heck of a time capturing them on paper. They were much brighter than this but at least I can see them. I'll keep trying!September 19, 2009
Light

Went to the Harvest Moon Festival today and took the camera. This is what I saw that I wanted to snap.
Added several textures.

Fall Beauty
The Asters have started blooming this week. I think they are really pretty but they don't seem to last very long. As you can see, I still have some coneflower too. I'm sure glad its Friday..its been a long, long week.September 13, 2009
Sweet Autumn
I love the smell of this clematis. I have three of these trellis on this wall with the Sweet Autumn in the middle and Jack Mani on the other two. But, the Sweet Autumn is choking the other two out. It grows all over the place and I cut it down to the ground every fall. I'm going to grow lots of this on the privacy fence. Ok...had to go about this a bit differently. I had to add to the canvas size on the background layer and then added the stroke and shadow on the second layer. Anyway, I got the shadow to work but needed to add more to the stroke. I'll get it some day...LOL..
This is it for tonight....headed for bed.
Knock Out Red Rose Bud
I put a stroke around this one but still can't do the shadow. This is one of my Knock Out Roses just getting ready to bloom out. I like them when they are in this stage. It's All About Me
I finally had a chance this morning to get some shots of a few of the flowers still left blooming. The Mandevilla has bloomed non stop this year. I guess it likes all the rain. I can't figure my CS4 out...can't get the shadows to warp like in CS2. So...you can't tell I put any border around this image. If you figure it out, let me know.September 4, 2009
Ice Cream

This is the first time any of the "Grands" have been here when the Ice Cream truck has come by. Had to grab money and camera and run outside so we could both get a treat. Zach an ice cream sandwich and me a photo of it all. I think I got the best deal....LOL
