If you haven't seen this movie, you need to go! I went with a friend, yesterday afternoon, and it had me spell-bound for the whole 2 1/2 hours. I would love to have seen the musical that toured the states. The cast was phenomenal! I cried and laughed and couldn't go to sleep because I kept re-playing it in my head. I'd go back in a heart beat! I've no image to share but definitely wanted to share my opinion on this remarkable movie..I was so excited when this friend asked me to go cause I knew Bill would not take it in. He hates musicals and I love them....how did we ever match up? Hummmm....
I have signed up for the health departments Weight Lose program and started on a diet. I want to lose 25 pounds and tone up the muscles that I seem to be loosing since I retired. I'm walking 5 1/2 miles a day and trying to cut down on what I eat. Mainly cutting out the sweets but limiting the rest. I was fortunate this week to gain a walking companion and the walks go much faster now. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I reach my goal!
.....
It's a movie that I will probably put on the list to see when I can get it to watch here at home. We very rarely go to the theater to see one.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on the weight lose program just hope you do better than me. I stick to the WW program good for a few days and then I slip off. Wish I could walk like that but I can't....I do need to try the treadmill again I think the ankle will let me.
I had read something about the PBS show Downton Abby the other day and decided it was something I would like but it was already in season 3 and I had missed some much I didn't think I could get caught up. I found season 1 and 2 on hulu and spent several days catching up. Then I found season 3 episode 1 on the PBS web site so I was all caught up and ready to watch the episode 2 that aired last night.
I got a notice about your birthday tomorrow and I had forgotten about it and I haven't been out of the house much since Christmas to buy one and I can't make them like you do you are not getting a card this year. Sorry but Happy Birthday tomorrow.
I don't go to the theater very often but once in a while a movie comes out that I know I want to see on the Big Screen. This was one of them!
ReplyDeleteExplain hulu to me? I don't have any of this sort of thing on the TV...no netflicks etc...not sure how to even go about it.
My walking companion is already wussing out on me...I don't think she likes the cold so I went alone this am...took the Iphone with me and listened to some new tunes I'd downloaded so that helped the boredom. So far...I've done great today...had a bowl of cereal for breakfast with half a grapefruit...a tangerine for a snack...a WW Smart Ones Tuna Noodle Gratin, a fat free yogurt and another tangerine for lunch....with my 5 1/2 mile walk, I still have 1400 calories to spare...my walk took off 865 calories.
It's ok on the birthday....I understand not remembering. I would always forget if I didn't have reminders in my Iphone. I turn 60 this year....ugh.....
About your walking companion maybe the 5½ miles was a little much to start with that's a heck of a walk. But you do like to push it.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should have been clearer....Hulu is on the PC http://www.hulu.com/ I had to pay for it I think it was 9 or 10 dollars for a month but I can cancel it now that I have caught up on my show. I will have to say it was an excellent picture very nice to watch.
She asked me ahead of time how far I walked and stated that was what she basically did but she jogged about a mile of it. So...I'm guessing she was in better shape then I but she can't handle the cold like I can.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, she isn't wussing out, just keeps changing the time of exercise and my undiagnosed OCD doesn't like that...I have always followed a schedule and any diversion in it drives me nuts. I get up, plan my day and then usually follow that plan, unless something important comes up.
And yes, you are so correct...I push and push myself. And anyone that gets in my path gets pushed too! How you can know this 1000 miles away is beyond me....LOL
I got my 5 1/2 in today but it took longer than normal...guess my body isn't completely up to 100% yet....lol..
So far today...I've had one biscuit with Pork/Bacon sausage gravy (left about 3 bites on my plate) a tangerine, a Quaker Chocolate Crunch Rice Cake, a poached egg on toast and a small vanilla yogurt. With my 5 1/2 mile walk, I still have 1116 calories to burn....I know this isn't normal and when my appetite goes back up it will probably be harder to keep the calories in range but since I'm sitting on the couch most of the day, I know I can't eat that much. Will I do go on this diet? I don't know....I've never really been on a diet so I can't say how I will do but if I don't try, I'll never know!
Schedule....I don't even know the meaning of that word. At one time I had to be more structured but not anymore I do what I want when I want.
ReplyDeleteI do waste a lot of time and I get pretty bored so maybe I need to get back in some sort of routine.
I'll think about (not to hard).
And yes, you are so correct...I push and push myself. And anyone that gets in my path gets pushed too! How you can know this 1000 miles away is beyond me....LOL
It wasn't hard.
I've been on a diet most of my life but have a hard time sticking to it everyday and one day of not watching can do me in......I gain weight just thinking about something. My main problem is when I eat I don't like breakfast and the first thing I know the day is almost gone and I haven't eaten anything then when I start I can't quit.
