Day 44

Well, Marsh came in like a lamb and is going out like a lion. We are having strong thunderstorms today. We woke to thunder and lightning and its raining right now. Makes for a dreary, gloomy Monday.

Day 43

Dinner was good as usual. I ran out of time so just made up some no bake cookies real quick for my carry in dish. I have to admit, they weren't real good...I think my peanut butter was a bit old. I used a jar of creamy that I'd had for a while. Bill says he will eat them anyway.

I'm not cheating..I really did take this picture yesterday morning while I was waiting on paint to dry...I took about a dozen and none of them were sharp until I switched to manual focus and they still aren't as sharp as you get.

Took this one yesterday. There is a lot to see along the river but everything looks rather blaa right now. I will go back in June or July.

I had to play around with this one to get it to look better. It was a bad shot,but I liked it. I will go back and take this one again.

I sure hope the second coat improves the appearance...
its much prettier than this on the
color swatch. I've got it all painted except for the second coat on this red wall. I took this with my halogen light and my external flash but its giving it all an orange look, even the brown is orange looking and its not. I guess this is a fine example of mixing lights and not getting the camera to figure them all out...LOL..too bad the broad behind the camera can't figure it out either. I'm just hoping for a vast improvement on color after the second coat tonight. Tomorrow I get to pick out tile!

Day 40

I'm getting terrible exposures of these but they are pretty and helping me with my winter blues. I've tried everything to expose them correctly but just can't nail it or the clarity. If I get time this weekend, I'll try again with some good natural light. They must be close to 30 blooms on this plant. They aren't very big but plenty of splash.

Look! I've got seedlings...I still have about a dozen that haven't germinated at all and I'm thinking the seed might be too old cause it was the Shasta Daisy seeds that were left from Jerri Ann's wedding. And, the middle seeds are getting too tall and I can't uncover them yet, so they might not make it but its been fun seeing if I could do it.

According to the instructions with this plant, it was suppose to be tulips but as you can see, its not...LOL
But, its really starting to bloom out now. I'll have about a half dozen by the end of the day.

This is the new wreath that I got for Easter. Love it but I guess I need to take it down.

Can you believe how fast this has grown? It's got blooms and will probably be blooming out in another couple of days. I got that wall finished in the laundry room and going to work on the final wall this week after work. Then, maybe I can get it all painted on Sat. morning before the company arrives. Now that I've got it started, I want to get it done.

Can you find the egg? After 3 egg hunts today I don't want to see another egg again for awhile. It has been a fun week with the Grands but I'm ready to hit the couch for the rest of the evening. Hope you had a Happy Easter.

Well, I'm slowly moving around the room. If it weren't for the wallpaper on the bottom of the walls, I'd had the room painted. It's taking forever to strip the 'dry-strip-able' paper...LOL. I must have pasted it with cement glue. I hope to finish this wall today and get it painted. Then all I will lack will be the red wall. I think I would like this color better if my woodwork was white but I don't want to paint it. What do you think about the door being the red color that I'm painting the far wall? Or, should I paint it the same as the walls beside it. The white spots are spackling...I had a few little holes.

Day 35

This wall is complete and the new laundry appliance are hooked up and I've washed 2 loads of towels. Not that I really had two loads dirty..we had to test it, so I just threw some of the towels I was using to clean and paint with in without any soap to make sure the washer worked. You can't just run water in the washer, it has to have something in it. Then, last night when I got done with all I did yesterday, I washed the towels proper...you know, with soap! LOL..they work great and I really like them so far. Now, I've got to get that freezer outside to the garage so I can paint it white. Keep your fingers crossed that I do a good job and no paint runs.

This is what I did with the Grands yesterday afternoon. They really enjoyed it. I think these little plastic cups that come in the egg coloring kits are so cute.

Day 34

Look what I started today! The washer and dryer were delivered today. I wish they had made it undamaged but the washer has two one inch scratches on the front bottom. I noted it on the manifest papers and called the company to let them know. They are contacting GE to see if the panel is one that can be replaced. I have to wait to hear from them but Bill and I switched the panels and reversed the dryer door. And, I went to Moore's and got paint and got the wall that they will sit on painted. I'm using this color called tyler taupe and then the one wall that you see when you walk in the back door will be raspberry truffle, a pretty shade of deep red. So..I'm keeping my Americana theme. As soon as I get it painted, I'm going to have the tile put down..I'm anxious now!
Oh, did I tell you I had the day off? LOL....Bill had it as holiday and I took it off..

Look what I got from the brown truck yesterday! My wonderful family from Chicago sent me some spring in a box. I'm anxious to see them bloom. When I took them out of the box last night, they were all bent over but they were standing up straight and tall when I got up this morning. My white balance is off cause they are a bit on the yellow side and they aren't in real life. I'll be sharing them as they progress.

Look what I did...found these at Wal-Mart marked down, so decided to try my hand at starting my own plants. When I retire, I plan on starting a lot of my own and hope to have a small greenhouse. Oh, if only retirement were tomorrow!

Look what I found today...I couldn't resist the bright colors and knew I would have time to photograph them before I had to box them up for the grands. I love the reflection in the vase...couldn't figure out how to get it all in the picture..the eggs, vase and flower...

I'm really confused about the days because I thought I was all caught up and I posted Day 24 yesterday. It doesn't take to much to confuse me. Took a little trip to the Amish country today and brought some of these back. Yes they are as good as they look. Cream Filled Coffee Cake.

No...I didn't take the picture but I sure do like it. The kids were at a wedding and the second shooter sent them this of Jackson. I love it and it gave me an idea to do all the grands eyes and have them printed large and matted...as soon as I can get them all together, I'm going to do this.

It is nice here today around 54°. Got to be outside for awhile. I can't wait to get my fingers in the dirt and I think I have a rosemary plant that made it through the winter. That has never happened before I always have to buy new ones every year.

This is my reward Pandora bracelet that I got for myself last June when I quit smokeing. I need to get me some more beads to add to it. The kids got me 4 for Christmas. I love it but it is heavy.
