A Thankful Gift

Can you believe it?  I made something...LOL....not that I don't make stuff all the time but this was actually done way ahead of time...We are invited to Jerri Ann's In-laws for Thanksgiving.  This will be the second time we've been invited and we are always grateful.  So, this year, I decided to take a hostess gift to thank them for their hospitality!  I bought the file from the Silhouette store, made my own matting out of cardstock and framed it in a dollar store frame.  The wording is just printed on to cardstock but then I cut the word Thanksgiving and one arrow out of cardstock and popped them up to give the saying a bit of dimension.  I've thought about adding some colorful leaves but haven't committed to that yet...maybe...just not sure.  I'm going to make a tag for the gift bag this afternoon and will post it later.

I will be glad when I've used up the ink in my old Epson..got a good deal on a new one and can't wait to hook it up but I had some ink left for the old one and am too fugal to waste it.  If you look closely, my old printer doesn't always print the best...leaves some lines in some of the colors.  I'm sure, once the Christmas cards are done, my ink will be gone too...

  1. Very nice work and thoughtful hostess gift. I'm sure this is something that will be on display year after year.
    Thanks for sharing your work.

  2. Thank you for commenting...LOL...I got the tag done but want to wait till I pick up a bag at town to take a picture of it. BTW...you never did tell me why you left Missouri a couple days early? Did you not have any fun? I sure wish I could have made it down there...I had looked forward to it from the second I opened that email and you stated you were coming.

  3. It was the weather we went shopping 3 days in a row and we had both had enough. Just took a slow trip home.
If you had just said the word we would have driven up to see you but maybe another time.

    1. I wanted to ask you to drive up so bad but hated to put you out! This is twice now that we've had the opportunity and twice that it didn't happen! I still feel like its going to happen soon through. It's just got to! I wish the weather had been nicer as its so wonderful in the Ozarks during the fall of the year. Maybe, next time you can time share in Branson!

  4. Been out of town christmas shopping for a couple of days. It was soooooo cold and windy.
We would have been happy to drive up. I won't be time sharing any more we deeded one to each of our kids for them to enjoy. Brent and I are getting a little to old to travel as much.

    1. I haven't started my shopping yet....going to start tomorrow but I do have 29 Christmas cards cut out and ready to assemble and another one in the works. It's been so dang cold and windy here its effected all my fall projects...don't have all the leaves picked up (heck, my trees still have them on their limbs!), my walks have been sporadic...(too cold and windy) and outdoor Christmas lighting is looking pretty bleak this year...Bill and I don't like putting up lights when our fingers break from the cold!
Well, looks like Bill and I will have to be the travelers to West Virginia...some day! BTW...I miss our emails! I wish I could slow down but it seems like I've always got something in the works!
