This is a class from DDE by Cassie Jones on Creating Brushes from paper. It was fun and very easy to follow. I learned a lot about brushes. The photo was one I took a few weeks ago when the Rhododendron was in bloom. Everything is from the class except the word art and I made it myself, because the ones that came with the class didn't work with the photo. Now all I need to do is remember everything I learned and use again. I can see myself making a lot of brushes this way.

A few shots that I got of the kids having fun yesterday (Memorial Day) at the wiener roast at my brothers. We had a good time and the kids had a blast playing in the creek.

Spring Abstract
I hope this doesn't hurt your eyes! LOL....I was walking around the yard with the new lens and had tried (unsuccessfully) to squat down to take some photos of the peonies and between falling over backwards and squeezing the shutter at the same time...(no, I can't recreate it!) I got this. I started to delete it in camera but didn't and I'm kind of glad I didn't. I like it! I love the swirls and the color mixture. I know its out of focus and won't win any awards but I like looking at it. Stare at it long enough and those swirls start to move....

One of my neighbors gave me a start of this beautiful Peony last year and here is the first bloom for this year in my yard. Love the color and the amount of petals on it. The flowers on my other one are so heavy they look terrible after a rain and I always cut them off.

Jessi missed getting her school picture taken this year so Brent took this one for her over the week-end. Her checks were not as pink before I resized and sharpened to post here.

Cherish Laughter
Worked on this most of the morning and think I finally got it to what I wanted. I scraplifted it from Gingersnap Creations. Hers is a hybrid layout and I wanted to recreate it. Everything is from DDE. This is an older image of Gavin but since he's lost one of his front teeth, I wanted to do a layout with his baby teeth. He is growing too fast and the idea of him losing a front tooth really bothered me....a sign that he is no longer a baby. Time is going by way too fast!

Life is a Journey
I was sitting here this morning and decided it was time to document this time in my life. I had done a tutorial by Jessica Sprague on using grunge frames and decided to use it for my layout.
The kit is one of my favorites by Meryl Bartho called As Time Goes By. The wordart is by Cottage Arts called Destination. The notecard is by Scrappers Guide from a kit called Travel. The ink spot is by Gina Cabrera from the Book Bag and the inked edge is by Alica Hansen.

Took this shot this afternoon of the bench and the wild geraniums out back. They are so pretty this time of the year.
