Handmade by Kristen

This is the birdhouse that Kristen made me. I was going to put it out on the back porch but just couldn't stand to see it get all wet. She has real plants in hers but I didn't see anyway to drain it and figured the wood would just rot away. So...I went to my favorite shop and got some fake plants, the nest and the bird...and moved it to its place in the family room. Stuffed some moss in the hole and tied some raffia on the spigot. Really like how it turned out except the bird doesn't show up very well...needed to be a brighter color.

  1. This is so cute. She did a wonderful job and I love your arrangement with the bird and nest.
Did she cut the wood too? Love that crackle finish.

  2. I'm not sure if she cut the wood or Greg did...need to ask her but I'm pretty sure she cut it all herself....she is pretty talented and not afraid to try something. I've got a picture she made for me and as soon as I get a shot of it, I'll post it...they are really cool. I just haven't found a spot yet to hang it...

I've spent the last 3 hours going through folders....I can't believe how much junk I save and still can't throw out...4 hard drives and 2 external drives and its a HUGE mess...I need to spend a month organizing my computer and getting things put into some kind of order. My drives are getting full and most of it is duplication after duplication.

  3. Something else...do you notice how fuzzy the image is on the blog page? But...if you click on it and view it on the image page, its nice and clear. Wonder what is up with that? This is the first time I've noticed it to be so much different. I started to take it down but when I clicked on it to view 'larger' it was just fine. Hummm....

  6. So I have to change the number for the width twice? right?

  7. It's not always the width on my hitching post it's the height.

  8. In other words, its the number of the biggest side...be it landscape or portrait view. Correct?

  9. I'm going to answer yes and I hope that is right. At least that's what is working.
