My idea of Front and Center. This is our local junior college and if I'm thinking correctly, this is the front of the building and the clock tower is the center.
Dessert from last night. Had this setting on the patio wearing capris and t-shirt.Today I'm inside with sweats on. I knew that nice weather would not last. Hope it comes back soooooon! Sorry I already took a bit and it's so good......Fat Free Cool Whip too.
In the background...took this on Sunday when Darby and I went to the State Park and explored one of the walking trails. We had a blast and plan on checking out another trail soon. She is quite the explorer and not afraid of anything.
I think violets are so cute.Don't like them in the yard but I like a few in the flower beds. Our weather is going to turn bad next week.Rain and colder.I knew it had been to good to last.
One of the shots from yesterday's game. J played a good game. Had a great time but it was a little chilly. It has been so nice here that I didn't even think about taking a jacket.
I'm not real sure what this is...it was on a bush in front of one of my customers house. I took my camera to work yesterday and snapped a few before the clouds came back and bought the rain with it.
Took this on my way to work. It's the beautiful Magnolia trees in front of our local junior college. The sky was this blue and the sun was shining. This am is not so pretty...heavy rain during the night and its cloudy now. I'm glad I got this taken yesterday. We haven't had pretty Magnolias for the past few years because of the late freezes and frost.
The Bradford is just starting to bloom. I hope the frost stays away until its done blooming. It's always so pretty and white in the Spring. I have one Bradford and one Chanticleer. The Bradford is round formed and the Chanticleer is more oval. I like the round one the best but its the weakest form and is known to break off in high winds. So far, mine is holding up ok and its 15 years old. The years of drought has been hard on it; it doesn't leaf out as much as it used to, but its still pretty.
Wild Columbine......I just love seeing these bloom. This is one that we brought back from the mountains and it has found a nice happy home in my flower beds.
The blank section on the right is for my pictures. I'm going to use my own photography there. I've talking to a guy about making me some 'frames' and I'm going to decoupage two of my photos. One of my doorknob and the other I've not decided on yet. I'll be adding some quote on each one of them. I might use the one of the blue door. I can't decide on black and white or sepia or maybe the chocolate look.
I got it to work but need to read more about using it better..I'm talking about my external flash used wirelessly. I had it set to light up the fall wall because my on camera flash left it dark over there. You can see that I had it set to much toward the freezer. But, it lite that far wall, at least. I've never used it that way, only used on camera but it was real easy to set for wireless. It's setting on a desk about 10 feet from the camera. Ignore the purple post its...they are for the tile man. I'm proud of my paint job on the freezer...matches the washer and dryer great and it even looks pretty professional...
My daffodils are FINALLY blooming outside. I was beginning to think they weren't going to this year. The only other plant I have blooming is my grape hyacinth and my Bradford pear is getting ready to bloom. I did notice a tiny tip of my hosta is starting up and my Stella de Or is up about 5 inches. It won't be long now and my yard will be colorful again.
BTW..how is my rule of thirds? Am I close or is it too center?
Darby is growing up so fast. She was 10 last Oct. and its so hard for me to believe. Seems like only yesterday she was a baby laying on my floor. She begged to stay all night with me on Sat. and I couldn't turn her down. She wanted to walk with me on Sunday morning before her grandparents came and got her at 9, so we were up early and on the walking trail before 8.
Darby and I went for a walk early Sunday morning and these are the first tulips I've seen in bloom. Just so happened to have my camera with me and got a shot. Was extremely cloudy so the lighting wasn't too good. But, they made me smile anyway...just knowing it was Spring, finally!
This is for "Little things" it could be used for through the window too. We have this finch feeder hanging outside the sunroom so got this shot yesterday. They are still afraid of us being so close. Hope they settle down and we can get a really good shot.
I finally got my assignment 5 sent in again. I went back to take the same shot of the mail box but they have a awning out now and it makes a shadow right across the middle of it. So I decided to send this one in instead. I hope all of the one I sent are better this time.
Found this little lost green army man out in the flower bed yesterday. I have no idea how long it has been there or who lost it. Probably Jason maybe last summer. Anyway..... He is found now just to be lost again another day.
We have a couple of red birds nesting some place out back. They are in the flower beds all the time. I wanted to get a little closer but was afraid I would scare it away. This is my solitary.
Diagonal! Well, its really called a hopscotch pattern but it is laid diagonally. I was surprised that they got this much done yesterday. They didn't get the tile till noon, so didn't get started until after that and Mark was by himself till 3:30. Then a high school kid showed up to help him. They worked till 9 last night and will be back at 8 this morning. Mark will get all the tile laid today and then they will be back tomorrow to grout it. His wife does the grouting and Mark does the cleaning. It's looking really good!
Solitary? This is the day...they are coming to lay the tile. I'm still debating on painting the trim white. If it weren't for the windows, I would do it but I just stained and varnished them about 3 years ago and hate to have to sand them down to paint them. The trim on the floor would be pretty easy cause its not as 'shiny' since I've not varnished it in a long, long time. Oh, well...will probably just sand it all lightly and give it a coat of varnish and put it back up. I got my new bi-fold door but haven't got it stained yet. Will work on it this weekend after Bill gets it cut to fit the opening. Do you think I need to paint the red wall one more time? I see brush strokes and that bugs me.
Ok, this is my version of backside. I was behind the whole time. The kids went on a hunt for a bomb and stolen money from the government in the timber and they moved much faster than I did. It was hard to get pictures when they 'ran' most of the way. It was cold and damp but they had a blast!
Hee, hee, hee...I picked a really easy one today. Just finished wrapping Gavin's birthday gift and saw 'curl' on the list. We are heading up to his house for his 'out door' party and its snowing as I type. Not accumulating but snowing, non the less. I plan on wearing my long underwear!
Here is my backside shot. Will not really mine but you know what I mean. Not very creative but it's ok. No rain here today and it isn't as warm only around 60°.
This is my annoying. We have cleaned this birds nest out at least 10 already this spring. If they would just go some place else rather than beside the front door it would be fine......We got your rain today.
This annoys me more than anything...every time I paint, I patch the cracks and within 6 months they are back or a new crack develops. I fight them constantly and wonder what else I could be doing to prevent them from returning. Bill tells me to ignore them but I can't. First day and I've already tackled one of the words. Now to think about the next one. I can think of something for it but I'm NOT sending a picture of it..ROTFL
♫ ♫ Rain, Rain, go away, Little Mary wants to play ♫ ♫ I'm so tired of this stuff. I want to see some sunshine, bight, beautiful yellow sunshine. I've never been a depressed person but this winter has pushed the wrong buttons and I'm depressed more than I'm happy. Give me Sunshine!
You have to look close but the sun is coming up this morning. It's real foggy here this am but at least its not raining. We are to have the one good day for the week today and then the rains move back in and they are calling for snow showers on Friday. Gavin's birthday on Sat. isn't going to be very good cause its suppose to be rainy and cool. I guess the percentages are pretty good since this is his 7th and it will be the first time that he hasn't had a pretty good day for his outdoor party.
Another door in town..I liked how they painted this on. I wish I could paint like this. It's cold here this morning so I didn't go for my walk. It's suppose to rain again tonight. I got the last flower bed cleaned up yesterday, so I'm ready for a warm up.
This is my last shot for assignment 5. Diagonal composition. I got my grade back this morning and I only got 7 out of 10. Not to happy with that but that's the way it goes.
