Peaches

Peaches are my favorite summer fruit, had to have some when I saw them at the market yesterday. Of course I had to get watermelon and cantaloupe too. Had all three sliced and tossed together for dinner last night along with broccoli & squash from the garden....YUM!

The heat is so much better today after the storm last night.

Baseball 2010

This is where I've been for the past couple of nights. They lost their very last game of the season 12 to 14. It has been super hot and humid all week and how they played is beyond me. I was sweating up a storm and I was just sitting in the bleachers. Gavin would be soaked by the time he got done popping up and down in this position. He gave it his all! I can't believe he's grown up this much and this fast!

I broke this off yesterday morning when I was putting a hoop around the bunch of them. They were falling over and getting in the way of the shed door. Anyway, this morning, I captured this. Kind of liked the combination!

Kristen's Birthday Card

I worked on this all afternoon. It's not as neat as I would have liked but I wanted to get it done and in the mail by tomorrow. I can not believe I forgot both of you's birthdays! I have got to come up with a better way of keeping track of them. I have this old greeting card program that used to remind me every morning at 8:00 with anyone that had a birthday during the next 7 days. I loved it but it doesn't play well with XP or Vista and as hard as I've searched, I've found nothing that works as good as it did.

Anyway, this is the card I made...the only thing computer generated was the inside message. I hand printed the Happy Birthday on the front and added my logo by hand on the back. My craft room looked like a tornado had hit it. I was going to work up a Father's Day card but didn't get it done. Guess Dad will be getting a store bought one.

I've got one more post before I hit the sack.

I am SO Sorry!

I knew there was something I was suppose to be doing the first of June but didn't realize it till yesterday afternoon. Bill mentioned that Kristen's birthday was coming up and as soon as he said it, I knew I was too late for both of you! You and my daughter-in-law share the same birthday and I thought it would be easy for me to remember...nope...didn't remember either one of you!
So, this is a belated greeting but its sent with lots of love. I'll make it up to you later.

I have a long way to go before it all looks right but it's a start. I may never feel that it rates a WOW.

Some snaps after the Rain

It was still a little windy but I took a few snaps anyway. Have always loved the deep green color that you get after a good rain.
The pink & yellow of this Lantana is so pretty together also have a Sweet Potato vine and blue & white Bacopa planted in the pot.

Don't have many Herbs still planted but this just keeps coming up every year. I do need to take it out and plant something that will shade the roots of the Clematis better. Maybe next year.

Just a close up view of the tiny flower. It's raining cats and dogs here today! Some areas got 7 inches over the weekend and I'd bet we already got over an inch this morning and the wind is blowing extremely hard. I just noticed my patio umbrella was still up but its now blown over. I hope it didn't break the post.

Yummy Yellow

I didn't make it home with the tag to this lovely plant, so I can't tell you the name of it...maybe you know and can tell me. It has the leaves of a rubber plant and these tiny yellow blooms are about the size of the tip of my little finger and the plant is loaded with them. I remember the tag stating that it blooms all summer and I think it is an annual. I have it sitting on my front porch table.

Signs of Summer

I'm taking a template class by Tiffany Tillman at Renee Pearson's.

Took the day off today from cleaning and played around some with one of the templates and came up with this.

My basement is about ¼ of the way cleaned and reorganized but I needed a day to rest. Made a Texas Sheet Cake for Neal earlier today and then just did what I wanted to do. Back at it tomorrow.

Memorial Day

Hope you are having a good Memorial Day! We are going to my brother's later for a family cook out.
This flower basket reminds me a little of the beautiful one that you posted but it's not as big and no blue Lobelia but that's ok I like it fine. I always forget my plan of sticking to one color theme (different shades of Pink) and start buying anything that catches my eye.

Missouri Iris

Finally caught a mild, windy day. Luckily, the rain hadn't knock all of them down. It's been so windy around here lately, I can't capture any of the flowers in their prime.

Pink Peony

Got to go outside for awhile this afternoon before the rain ran me back in. Cleaned a little in the large flower bed under the tree but I have so much more to do I may never get it all done.
I know I had more work to do but had to take some time to snap a few pictures of this before the rain beats it down. Love the smell of this flower.

When I see an image with this Hazy look I always say to myself... WOW I like that.... but when I do it I'm never quit sure.

Seneca Rocks - This image doesn't show just how really amazing these are, they truly are quit a sight. Should have tried to get one from the side to show how narrow they are.
I can't believe people really climb them...Wish I could still do something like that.

This is an Early Settlers Home on display in the Seneca Rock park . I doubt they were really this nice,but maybe. Wish you could see the rain barrel better beside the front porch. Wouldn't that be nice to wash your hair in. Would make it nice and soft.

I have never grown beans this way. Guess they need to be pole beans to grow up a pole....LOL We always plant bush beans and I can't wait to pick, cook and eat some. I'm so looking forward to all the good things from the garden.

I'll bet this has seen plenty of work.

Finally found time today to get the laptop out to transfer these pictures to this computer so I could work on them and get them ready to post.

We've had so much rain in the last week that I don't think we will need any more this summer.

I know that's not true..... We'll probably need some next week but I'm ready for some sun.

New Decorations

I finally found something for my fireplace opening. Had seen this little stool in a window on my way to work and had plans to check it out on the weekend. On Friday night, I noticed it was gone and figured it had been bought. I decided to go see if they had anything else I couldn't live without and lo and behold, the stool had just been moved to a different spot in the store. I ended up having to cut about 4 inches off the bottom to make it work with my other stuff but love how it turned out. Gives my fireplace a more primitive look that blends with the mantel decor better than before.

Mother's Day 2010

I had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Opened the bottle and noticed this for the first time. How long has it been there? I have no idea, but it caught my attention this time. Have a Wonderful Mother's Day!

Fiesta!!

Don't these remind you of fiesta-ware dishes? I fell in love with this color combination and think I'll do a few pots up like them and add them to my privacy fence along with some colorful wall hangings. I've seen some colorful suns, flowers, bugs, etc. in magazines and like the look. Give my back yard some fun, colorful appeal.

Rainy Sunday

What else is there to do on a rainy day? Cleaned house and did laundry and then baked up a batch of good old fashion oatmeal raisin cookies. Yummm! I haven't mowed lawn since last Sunday and I can't get home in time during the week to get it done. It will have to be baled by the time I do get to do it. Plus, we leave next Friday night to go down to my brother in laws for the weekend. Ugh....I might have to hire someone to mow this week!
